(Buffalo, MN – January, 2020) Residents of Wright County are invited to join Critical Conversations – Wright County for a 4-part series about the national economy and how it affects the local community. Hosted by Ole Olson and Renee Cardarelle.
The Critical Conversation Economic Series asks: We live in one of the wealthiest countries – so why does it feel like there’s never enough? Have you ever wondered why we seem to have less in our wallets when everyone says we have a strong economy? Do you ever wonder how national financial trends affect us here in Wright County?
To explore these questions Critical Conversations – Wright County is hosting a 4-part series about our national economy and how it affects us in our local community. The first installment is entitled: “Making Sense of the Rhetoric Around Our Economy”. We will discuss differing viewpoints of what makes a “healthy” economy, the shrinking middle class, and other local concerns.
This event will be held Saturday, February 15, 2020 from 10:00 AM – Noon at United Faith Community UCC, 8 South First Ave, Buffalo. Refreshments will be served. This is FREE and open to anyone. Childcare will be provided.
Be sure to save the dates for the remaining 3 Conversations (all to be held at United Faith Community UCC):
- March 14 – Healthcare and the Economy
- April 18 – National Policy (tariffs and trade) and it’s impact on local jobs, farms, and businesses
- May 16 – Housing and Homelessness
The Critical Conversation goal is to come together as a community and learn how to engage in positive conversations about current issues. Through these Critical Conversations we promote: embracing diverse ideas, embracing our neighbors, compassion, a shared humanity, win-win conversations and actions, and pursuing integrity, honesty, and truth.
